Ever since TTC and Amadou et Miriam, Ive been getting (a little bit) into Francophone music. And I stumbled on to this song, “Fils de Cham” by an up-and-coming Senegalese-French singer called Tete. There are supposed to be accent marks over the “e”s but I dont know how to do that. He sounds kind of like an early Let-Love-Rule-Lenny Kravitz and looks like Wyclef.
I have no idea what he is singing about but it sounds kind of sweet and sunny and upbeat…and then the video is full of vaguely creepy/disturbing images of black people being abused and expoited. Hmmm….
The website (in French) is at http://www.le-sacre-des-lemmings.com/ click on the “Tete” menu, for “video”
Catch though, no?
