Weekend report

It was a busy and active weekend, which ended with me lying on my back on the cool wooden floor, sipping Vietnamese beef broth to combat late-onset heatstroke and then unspooled in reverse, Memento-like, through a thronged Japanese festival, frolicking on the beach at Shek O with sandmen and inflatable unicorns, Thai food, a long hike over the Dragon’s Back with friends from Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Brazil and Germany, and before any of that a sunny day reading Knausgaard by the beach, eating German food and reading about rainy Bergen under dazzling skies and palm tries on the strange, dreamy island of Ma Wan…
